Challenges
There were many challenges that were encountered when creating the Multi-use Container Building in San Ignacio. The team was faced with creating a building in a flood prone area; they had to provide all required spaces within a constrained triangular site and had to ensure that each space was functional and comfortable for its occupants. They had to construct a building that required new introductory techniques as the town and its construction workforce are new to assembling and constructing container buildings.

T&R designed the building to be guarded within flood periods- the main floor of the building was raised above flood levels and its highest level with the most important functions were raised above historic flood levels. Each container were appropriately placed to compliment and work along with the triangular site while providing shading and in turn cooling and comfort. All of the structural challenges of the design and of the construction was safeguarded and the engineers worked closely and intricately to translate the construction techniques to the literacy of the local construction team including changing foreign methods to suit the style and craftsmanship of the local team- in which the quality was still sought and achieved.
